My Go-To Festive Party Look | LOTD*

Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog!
My little hiatus from the blogging world has finally come to an end and I'm so pleased I made that decision as it really did help clear up some head space. I also managed to have a huge clear out and tidy up of my space which has boosted my mood too and I talked to my close friends about things that have been going on and the support has been overwhelming. I'm so fortunate to have so many wonderful people in my life so thank you so much, it really does mean the world. As well as online too! I also want to give a special mention to those of you who commented on my last post with so many kind, supportive words which really resonated with me so a big thank you Sneha, Eloise, Elizabeth Rebecca & #sweetreats (sorry I don't know your first name! Let me know if you see this haha!), all lovely ladies who's blogs you should definitely check out and give them some love. My small time away gave me a lot of perspective and I'm starting to feel more positive again and back to my usual weird ass self. This time off I've surprisingly found a huge amount of inspiration for blog post ideas and photography ideas so hopefully I can utilise that throughout the year.
To kick off this year I wanted to share with you an outfit I wore for my Christmas party. I know, I know. It was a while ago now but I believe this would also make a great outfit for many other occasions and I love the overall look that much I couldn't resist sharing it here. It was a big step out of my comfort zone and introduced a new love to amazing brands that I hadn't really bought much from previously and gorgeous new pieces that I know I will be wearing constantly during 2018. So let's begin:

The Outfit
First part of the look begins with this beautifully detailed, sequinned star top from Miss Selfridge. I'm a sucker for anything star print and sequinned so this was a match made in heaven for me. I was originally apprehensive of the sheer material of the back of the top, but after trying it on it was more opaque than I had anticipated so that was a relief. I feel it is the perfect amount of festive whilst also still looking smart but also I think it's a great piece that will work not only at being dressed up but dressed down too in a more casual way so I'm looking forward to experimenting with styling this more with my wardrobe throughout the year.Next up is this absolutely stunning arm candy from Kurt Geiger. I originally came across the leather kensington bag on Gemma's (What's In Her Wardrobe) instagram and instantly fell in love with it. Previous to this I had no idea that Kurt Geiger even sold bags, I always just assumed it was shoes haha how dim! Although the bag is expensive, I initially assumed it was going to cost the price of a Bvlgari bag so was happy to discover it wasn't that pricey in comparison and it was reduced at the time too so I felt it was meant to be. I know that I will get the wear out of it and will be a bag I use for life. Not only is it a wonderful bag to look it, the bold, metallic, vibrant colours are simply beautiful, the chunky chained straps are adjustable so you can wear it as a handbag, shoulder bag or a crossbody bag and the width and depth of the bag is a large enough size to keep my 3 main essentials; phone, purse and camera, as well as extra bits and pieces too. As my outfit was a bit more toned down with the black it allowed the bag to compliment what I wore but also be the statement piece. For the next item, I must confess I have to thank Megan Ellaby and her incredible style for inspiring this outfit idea from her Huge High End & High End Festive Party Haul video (thanks Megan!). After already having bought the top earlier in the month, I was determined to find a way to wear it for the party. Then this video appeared in my subscriptions and Megan also had the top which she styled with blue velvet flared trousers which I thought looked amazing, however I'm not as confident to rock such a bold pair of trousers but I was inspired by opting for velvet bottoms as an alternative to wearing jeans which was my original thought. Along came Lotd* (Look of the day), who very kindly contacted me and introduced me to their brand. They are an up and coming fashion brand from Manchester, who I was very kindly offered the opportunity to select my favourite pieces from the site. One of which was these gorgeous velvet suit bottoms* which went perfectly alongside my top. Having never heard of the brand previously I've got to say I was truly impressed with not only the amount of clothing options ranging from casual to party attire on the site in a variety of styles to choose from but the affordability of the clothing and the quality is incredible too. The suit bottoms fit like an absolute dream! The perfect combination of smart, comfortable and flattering. Just what I was looking for so thank you Lotd! I have since regularly visited the site as one of my go-to's now for clothes and have even more recently put an order in on a navy velvet suit. Keep your eyes peeled for that future outfit post ;)
The finishing touches to the outfit included a slick of red nail gelish nail polish from my local beauty salon, my metallic pewter, pointed toe heels from Dune and my silver orb earrings from Vivienne Westwood.
