Valentine's Day 2014

Happy Valentine's Day!

This is where I'm beginning my first post of 2014 on this blog as I have been so occupied with university at the moment. I'm now in my final year of my degree so it's busy busy busy for the next 4 months. But I admit I have been severely missing blogging. This blog is my therapeutic space on the internet, a hobby I find so cathartic amidst all the chaos of university work. Does anyone else find blogging to be therapeutic too? 

Today is one of my favourite days of the year, yes it's Valentine's Day! A random fact about me: I prefer Valentine's Day over Christmas. I don't know why, but I've just always loved the occasion. Whether I'd been single or not I've always enjoyed the day. I think there's something so sweet about a day dedicated to celebrating love and showing the people you care about how much they mean to you or even having a day of pampering and spoiling yourself, what's not to enjoy?! To honour this special occasion, I decided to document what I got up to and my day and night outfits as I like to dress for the theme of the day. As you can probably tell, I went slightly overboard on the theme ;)

For my university classes today I wore this cute black camisole with red lips printed all over it from Primark with this cream jumper with red lips embroidered all over it, also from Primark which I wore over the top of the cami. I then teamed those with my light blue Leigh jeans from Topshop and my favourite pair of flats; these gorgeous ones from Vivienne Westwood.

For my date night with Dan that evening, I wore this new gorgeous red sleeveless skater dress from TFNC London which I ADORE, teamed with my beautiful Vivienne Westwood heart heels (which I got for my 18th birthday) and my new Lulu Guinness red lip clutch. 

On the morning before we went to university for our classes, Dan picked me up to take me to uni so that we could exchange presents. I was greeted with this gorgeous bouquet of red glittery flowers and lilies with a cute handwritten card to go alongside it and a heartwarming Valentine's card too with the sweetest of words written inside and this adorable Max from The Little Mermaid plush toy that I've had my eye on for ages. These gifts are so wonderful, I absolutely love them! I feel like the luckiest girl in the world <3

I've had such a lovely day celebrating our first Valentine's day together. We went for dinner at this wonderful Italian restaurant called Mamma Mia's in Newcastle. The decor reminded me of an Italian café or bistro with the gingham tablecloths and the place went all out on the theme of the day too which I loved! They served food on heart shaped plates and bowls, they had heart shaped food and had chips cut-out into the words "I <3 U"– I love stuff like that! It was a cute touch to our meal and overall I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've had the best day <3
