A Weekend In Leeds

I have just returned from a weekend away in Leeds for my friend Sarah's 21st birthday where I had the most amazing time! We started the Saturday with the girls and myself decorating our hotel room with balloons, party poppers and banners whilst the birthday girl was out. Once she returned to the room we all shouted 'SURPRISE!' at her and then had fun taking group photos wearing party hats and props. One of the girls had these cute wine glasses made for each of us with our names on to celebrate the occasion with. We opened a few drinks and said cheers to the birthday girl and the weekend ahead. Then we headed out to begin the weekend festivities!

We spent Saturday day time wandering around the shopping centre, where I managed to pick up a few gorgeous pieces from Victoria's Secret before going for food and followed by more cocktails at Revolution bar. On the evening I was introduced to The Botanist which I've heard great reviews from fellow bloggers about the Newcastle one but had never had a chance to visit myself previously, so being able to go to the Leeds one was exciting! Now I can totally understand the hype over The Botanist as I thought it was fantastic! I loved the quirky decor that made for the perfect backdrop for our meal and drinks. I ordered the scampi which was delicious and it came in a mini picnic basket with the tartare sauce presented inside a mini watering can which I thought was adorable! I really appreciate attention to detail like that. The cocktails I tried were a bit hit and miss for me. The first cocktail I tried was a bit too bitter for my tastes, I literally had to trial and error as I didn't know what ingredients I preferred the taste of, so my friend's kindly offered a sip of a few of their drinks and then I found a one I liked in the end that I thought was fruity and sweet. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I definitely will be making plans to visit the Newcastle one in the future. After dinner we headed back to the hotel, where we got ready for the night out ahead where we had so much fun dancing to our heart's content.

Dress: Missguided, Waistcoat: Topshop, Bag: Mulberry, Boots: Matalan

For my outfits for the weekend, during the day I opted for this pretty white summer dress from Missguided that I absolutely adore. I added this new paisley printed mint green waistcoat from Topshop, which was a recent purchase, to add an extra bit of colour to the outfit. I like the floaty details of both pieces together, making it a very Spring/Summer outfit without being too over the top, with the green waistcoat coordinating well with my Mulberry bayswater bag. Then teamed with these black chunky heeled chelsea boots from Matalan, which made for a great day shoe as they dressed up the outfit but were also very comfortable to wear when walking around Leeds city centre.

Dress: River Island, Bag: Topshop, Stick-On Nails: Boots, Heels: Asda

For the evening attire, I chose this gorgeous bright yellow body con dress from River Island. It's not a colour I'd usually go for with pale freckly skin like mine but I thought with false tan on it would look lovely and summery. I teamed it with my black heeled shoes from Asda, which are dressy but I can also dance in them (a personal night out essential for me!), my leopard print clutch bag from Topshop as a contrast to the dress and my pineapple print stick-on nails from Boots, curled hair and a bright hot pink lipstick.

The next morning we headed out to Zizzi's for lunch, where I indulged in my favourite dish, the fondutta formaggi before we got our stuff together and headed home. It was a brilliant weekend with my best girls and I can't wait for more memories like this in the future.
