Waxing for Beginners | Veet EasyWax Electrical Roll-On Kit Review*

Hello lovelies!
I was recently sent the new Veet EasyWax Electrical Roll-On Kit* to sample and review for you guys. Normally I use my trusty razor but I admit I've always wanted to try waxing at home at some point so this was the ideal opportunity for me to give it a go!

The Kit

A Self heating device with a cap for the top and a base to hold the device in.
A 50ml roll-on wax refill for use on legs and arms.
12 non-woven strips (can use more than once).
4 Veet Perfect Finish Wipes.
An instruction leaflet.
An electrical cable.

This product is recommended to use on Legs & Arms, Underarms & Bikini, so for this review I tried it on my legs as that is the easiest and the less sensitive of the three areas. It says for the best results, the hair needs to be at least 2mm long before waxing and to make sure the skin is dry with no traces of creams, anti-perspirants or oils on before you start. Also if used for a special occasion, it will need at least a day for the redness to die down. Right! Let's Begin!

Preparation

First I had to prepare the device, I took the wax roll-on refill and inserted it into the heating device. Then connected the cable to the device and plugged it in. The base of the devise has a light that turns red which came on and then I placed the device on its base and waited the desired 20 minutes for it to reach the ideal temperature. Although it states you can leave it for 30 minutes maximum, I decided to play it safe for my first go.

Ready, Set...Go?

After 20 minutes, try out the wax on a piece of paper. If the temperature is right then the wax should roll on evenly. If not then continue to let the device warm up the wax for an addition 5-10 minutes and test it again.

Wax On, Wax Off

I took the device and with the slanted side of the roller, rolled it down my leg starting from my knee down to my ankle. Then I quickly placed the strip over the layer of wax and smoothed it down, leaving a little space (about 1cm) wax free to be able to pull the strip back. I held the section of skin tightly and quickly pulled the strip back as the quicker you do it, the more hair you remove and then pressed the area with my hand to soothe the skin and Viola!

The Verdict

The kit didn't look as daunting as I normally imagine waxing to be, just a couple of bits that fit and worked properly and included everything you need. I found the step by step instructions really easy to follow and it explained the process clearly and with little images to illustrate each paragraph. They include lots of information which for first timers like myself this was really helpful, as well as offering extra tips and frequently asked questions for the reader. It also has instructions for waxing bikini and underarms too which I looked at for the purpose of this review and again was really straight forward. The waxing itself I found was easy to navigate and although it did leave a little bit of redness, it was all overall a painless experience and my legs feel super smooth for it. I will definitely be making this one of my go-to products for next summer.

 Thanks for reading! <3
