Glasses Face*

Hello lovelies!
I was recently contacted by the lovely Tina over at Firmoo who asked if I'd be interested in trying out their range of glasses. Many of you don't know this but I actually wear glasses, I used to wear them in public since the age of 10 and felt uber self conscious in my awkward teenage girl phase and as soon as I could put contacts in, I saved the glasses wearing for indoors, lazy 'not going anywhere' kind of days. So to even have a photo of me wearing any on the internet is conquering a fear of mine. Maybe it was because I never found a pair that really suited me until last year haha! Anyone with glasses will empathise, I used to hate having to choose a new pair of glasses, being stood with some random sales lady and my Mam both watching me awkwardly and getting impatient in deciding on a pair and just choosing whatever I felt looked OK-ish for the sake of time and discomfort. It's a lot different going into a place by yourself and taking the time to really try out a pair as the attention isn't really on you and you can do it out of your own accord. Anyway Firmoo have this cool option online of uploading a photo of yourself so that you can see how the different pairs are going to fit, which is handy for someone like me who has a small face and a biggish nose, as usually different styles cater for different face shapes, eye shapes etc.
As the pair of glasses I have at home are your usual black and tortoise shell, I thought I would take the opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and experiment by getting a pair that is a bit more 'out there' and quirky so I decided on these gorgeous blue and brown ones as I was really drawn to those the most when I was browsing. They arrived really quickly and I was happy to receive them in this really cool case that is based on an old world map (I'm a fan of unusual glasses cases too, so it fit my personal taste perfectly!).  I tried them on and I absolutely love them! I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the colours looked and with them being a big size, I didn't think they'd fit my face properly but they really framed my eyes nicely, so I am very happy with this result!

They have a 'first pair free' offer (excludes postage) for new customers so it is definitely worth giving it a try, especially if you are like me and fancied trying something different. If you want to read more about it look here. Even if you didn't need glasses they have the option of lenses too incase you were wanting some for fashion purposes I would definitely recommend this brand.

Thanks for reading! Let me know what you think :)

  1. Lovely glasses, the touch of blue is so pretty. I recently embraced wearing glasses (purely because of laziness) but they do make me feel really insecure. I definitely feel best with my contacts in, that said these frames are gorgeous!

  9. These glasses are so so nice! They're very chic. I too have just recently got some new specs. Mime are in the 'tortoise shell' colouring and are uber round, Anthropology-esque. If you'd like to follow each other, I'm at Bilgi | Stepping Onto The Scene, and on bloglovin here.

    1. Omg Katie I feel your pain! I think I did too haha, I made the mistake of only needing them to see the board, but then some girl said 'why don't you just wear them all the time instead of carrying them around?' so I thought that might be better and turns out it made my eyes worse relying on them all the time. Silly girl! haha coz. As soon as I could put in contacts I've basically refused to wear my glasses in public, I'm so vain haha!
And thank you for the compliment, that is really sweet :D xx

  12. Those glasses are seriously so lovely! I can imagine the tortoise shell style really suits you, but I especially love the almost electric blue in the middle. I wear glasses/contacts as well, but I definitely save glasses for lazy days. c:

  25. I passed through the same thing. I wear glasses since the age of 8 and people always made fun of me. I've been wearing contacts for 3 years now and I'm very happy, but there are days in which I don't want to put them on and face the day with my indoor glasses, but I don't find a pair that makes me completely happy. Your new glasses are amazing! Love them! You look great!

    1. Aww thank you so much Euge and I can totally relate to you! Some people in school would look super cool in glasses and I was definitely not one of those people. People kind of judge you when your that young though don't they? but then as you get older people start to think glasses are cool and I'm like wtf? since when? haha! my inner child finally buzzing with happiness :p It took me til last year to find some pairs I was satisfied with, I still find myself wearing them indoors haha, why don't you go into your optitions without booking an oppointment and just try loads of frames on and see which ones you feel most confident in? Takes the pressure off and you don't have people following you around watching you as you do it, you never know you might find your dream pair? :D xx

  27. Those glasses are seriously beautiful! It's always a risk stepping out of your comfort zone but they look so good and really suit you! I am the same, I have only been wearing glasses for just under 2 years but find they can be such a pain when you are on the hunt for new ones! When I had to buy my very first pair, I brought a friend with me and we were in that shop for about an hour as I could not find a pair that I really liked! So stressful and a lot of effort to even book an appointment.
