August Favourites

Hello lovelies!
At the start of the month I had been thinking of new content for my Blog and as August is my favourite month, (being my birthday month) I thought I'd give this 'Favourites' malarky a try! Some of these you may recognise from my big haul I did as I was really impressed with some of those that I bought back then. These are definitely products I'll definitely repurchase.

Can I just note how cute this shell plate is please?!
I got 2 from Matalan and I think they are just the cutest little things.

BarryM Cosmetics Lipstick in 129 Lavender
After seeing a SunBeamsJess Youtube video where she goes through her lipstick collection, she had a Mac Snob lipstick which I thought was such a pretty colour and would be a good change from my standard pale pinks I use. However I am not a 'Mac Girl' so I decided to hunt around for a dupe or at least one a similar shade and for a small price tag. This lipstick has such a creamy feel on the lips, it doesn't dry them out either and I think the shade looks lovely with sunkissed or tanned skin.
Benefit The Pore Fessional
This one is obviously old news, but I'm new to the party and now I understand why there is such hype over it. I tend to get an unattractive sheen on my nose and chin which I normally use powder on. However I decided to try this out and put it in those 'problem areas' and I've really noticed a difference. It reduces the sheen completely and it feels really soft on my skin. I usually apply it under my foundation, although it does say you can apply it over it too.
Renewing Argan Oil of Morocco Spray
I've always heard that Argan Oil is good for hair growth, so I bought this with that idea in mind. I'm still trying to grow my hair as it is not at my goal length yet (not far off now though!). I only spray it on the ends of my hair (dip dyed bits) to help with making it healthier and I think this product has helped with the appearance of it. I have also been told very recently that my hair has grown a lot too. The only thing I would advise with this is to only spray a small amount, I made the mistake when I first used it and my looked SO greasy so be careful to only use little spritz.
Urban Fudge Sea Salt Spray
Another hair care product here. I had been after sea salt spray for ages but I was never sure which one would work so I had bought a few. This one was the best out of the 3 as it really texturised my hair and made it voluminous the way I wanted it to be. It also smells of coconut so it leaves your hair smelling good too.
Benefit Watts Up! Highlighter
My goodness! I could rave so much about this! I normally would not use a highlighter when putting on my makeup but I remember seeing a BeccaRose Youtube video and she mentions a Topshop one, so I originally went into town to get that one but came out with the Benefit one instead and I'm so pleased because it is amazing! It has a creamy feel to it and leaves a lovely dewy glow to your skin which makes my skin look radiant so it gets a big thumbs up from me.
Rimmel London Lipstick in 006 Pink Blush
I am absolutely obsessed with Rimmel lipsticks. Aside from the BarryM one, I think all of my lipsticks are from Rimmel. I normally go for pink shades as I think they suit me better than red or darker shades especially for during the day time. This one is very pale pink so it just gives a little something extra to a natural/daytime makeup face. (It looks dark on my photo but it isn't in real life!)
Blistex MedPlus Lip Balm
I have a really bad problem with dry lips and I've tried all sorts: Burts Bees, Chapstick, Nivea, Babylips, Vaseline, Carmex, you name it, I'll have probably tried it. But this one is by far the best one I have ever used and I use it all the time to the point where I buy them in 3s because I love it that much haha! Although the smell of it is not all sunshine and roses, it really does the job for my lips and moisturises them really well and I use it before applying any lipsticks or even just on it's own and it works wonders.
Benefit Erase Paste
Again, probably another old news products but new for myself and again I can see why people like it so much. I have really bad dark circles under my eyes and I've used Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer and Touch Eclat which I think work great too and I use those as well but I have recently started to use Erase Paste and it is fantastic! It completely hides the dark circles and you don't even need to put loads of product on your skin so it lasts for ages. I'm really happy I've tried this.

1) If you have tried any of these and your thoughts
2) What have you been loving in August
Happy reading!

The Panda Dress

Hello lovelies!
As you know I recently visited Edinburgh Zoo for my 22nd birthday, so I thought today I'd do a little outfit post of what I wore. I had found this pretty panda print dress round about the same time as I did that big haul of mine and I thought it was perfect for my 'zoo attire'. I think the print is adorable and the style of it is not usually what I go for but I thought it looked really flattering. I absolutely love Henry Holland's brand, it is one of my all time favourite brands as it always has really cute and quirky prints which are not usually found elsewhere. I teamed it with these pointed flats which I have been living in for months now, I think they look so smart and can really change up a look that you'd normally put round toe flats with. And of course, the genuine fake Mulberry! After my trip to Turkey back in June/July I had been after a small black bag to replace a very well worn Topshop one and found this one at a Sunday Market, the quality of it is really good and it is the ideal size for the things I carry with me for evenings and nights out.

Edinburgh Zoo for my 22nd Birthday!

Hello Everyone :)

I don't know about you, but I'm feeling 22! ;) On the morning of Friday the 22nd of August, I was greeted with a gorgeous bouquet of flowers and 22 by Taylor Swift and It's My Birthday by Will-I-Am playing in the background as I opened cards and prezzies. I'm usually the type to be really excited for my birthday and I really like to do something different than what I do in normal everyday life to celebrate and this year was no exception. Myself and the bf took the train to Edinburgh for the day which was lovely, I had a delicious birthday meal at Vittoria Restaurant and went on the wheel and had a fab view of the city, but the main point of the trip was to visit the Zoo! I have been dying to go to Edinburgh Zoo for well over 2 years and now I can finally cross it off my Bucket List! I decided to rock my new Panda print dress for the occasion as it seemed to fit in nicely with the theme ;) I thought I would show you some photographs from my day at the Zoo, my favourites had to be the Lion and the Penguins. So cute :) Enjoy!

A Cheeky Haul

Hello lovelies!
Last weekend before work I did a solo mish into town and ended up coming home with a big bag of goodies so I thought I would just go through what I've bought for you all. I know some of these products are old news and I'm behind with the hype for a lot of these products so some of these you may already know about but I hope you enjoy reading my thoughts on them. Originally I was going to attempt a haul video for this but it was horrendous! Maybe one day they'll be a haul for you but for now here's to happy reading! Enjoy!

Hello August!

Playsuit: Warehouse*, Belt: Primark, Heels: Topshop

Hello lovelies!
At last! It is finally that wonderful time of the year! No, not Christmas, It's August! And only 21 days 'til my birthday!
First up I'd like to say thank you all so much for the lovely and supportive comments in my last post, I was really flattered at how kind everyone was about my new ideas for my Blog and how I'd even inspired some of you as well. What a lovely bunch you all are! ;) Speaking of which I have made another change to my blog, if you haven't noticed already I have actually got Violetdaffodils her own domain name! I'm actually really excited about this! It's a good feeling to know she's all mine and it just looks so much better :)
As August is my favourite month, I felt the need to include a post with these Lion statues to pay homage to my Leo star sign ;) So I ventured outside for this post which also fits nicely with the outfit I'm wearing as it fits the floral theme. The material feels so soft and I really like jumpsuits for how versatile and comfy they are. I either go laid back with some gladiator sandals and pointed flats or team them with black heels and big boots. The jumpsuit comes with a thin black belt which is cute however for this outfit I felt a brown belt would coordinate better with the boots. The belt is off an old Primark dress and when I donated the dress to charity I kept the belt incase I wanted to wear it with something else and the boots are actually off a few years ago, I got them with my staff discount as a pre-20th birthday treat before I stopped working there.

I'm kicking off the start of August by going for a meal with my friend Charlotte to celebrate us both passing University which is a belated celebratory meal due to busy schedules so I'm really looking forward to it. We will be heading to Italian Kitchen which I've never been to before so we're going to stuff our faces full of pasta and chicken! :D Can't wait!
