Happy Valentine's Day!
I hope you are all enjoying the day whether you celebrate it or otherwise. Dan and I decided to have a date night in Newcastle for the occasion, so we visited Piccolino restaurant. The restaurant was so pretty with the fairy lights draping down each of the huge windows and they had heart shaped balloons and bunting decorating the room which all suited the cosy atmosphere. We stuffed our faces with food before heading back to his to chill for the evening. I recommend the hand-stretched garlic bread with rosemary and sea salt and the spaghetti carbonara which I washed down with a glass of one of their signature cocktails they had made for Valentine's Day. I think it was called "Love Punch" if I remember rightly...either way it was delicious! Then we went for a lovely, quiet stroll along the quayside where the Gateshead Millenium Bridge was all lit up in multicolour.
In true tradition, Dan got me a heartwarming card and a beautiful, colourful bouquet of flowers with sunflowers and rainbow roses, which are absolutely gorgeous! I'm a very lucky lady indeed! They make me so happy and make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside every time I look at them. Another lovely Valentine's Day spent with the one I love.
